Reported by: Mechell Dixon Thursday, Dec 25, 2008 @07:16pm CST Santa needed a little help getting some packages to people on Christmas. So, he called on some helpers who are skilled at making special deliveries. Two postal workers spent the day delivering express mail packages in the Wichita Falls area. Postal officials say there's typically a few dozen deliveries on Christmas day, but this year, two workers scrambled around town to drop off about 70 packages. One of Santa's helpers told us that for him making people smile makes working on Christmas day worthwhile. Chris Snyder / U.S. Postal Worker: "It's neat to see the reaction of the kids and the parents when you come to the door. And, of course, the reaction of people when you're driving down the road. They're looking at you." "And, what reaction is that?" "Just... smiling. You, know... Happy." In case you're wondering... the cost to have an express package delivered on Christmas day started at $25.10 and went up. |
