Ricardo LeCompte joined KFDX-3 Sports in February 2007 as a sports reporter and weekend sports anchor. He also hosts “Sports Sunday”, Texoma’s most popular sports program.
Ricardo describes himself as an Air Force brat, who has always had a passion for sports. From the time he was 7 Ricardo was always involved in organized sports, from basketball to baseball to flag football. He says it’s just what military kids did.
Ricardo attended Florida State University, and hosted a college sports show for the local PBS affiliate, WFSU. He was also a sports reporter for Seminole Production and SUN Sports. He interned at WCTV in Tallahassee, and WJHG in Panama City. In between the fun and games, he did manage to get some schoolwork in, and graduated Cum Laude from FSU in 2005 with a degree in Communication.
Ricardo began his career as a news and sports reporter at WBRZ in Baton Rouge. He is now excited to be covering sports full-time here in Texoma.
When Ricardo is not rooting on the Seminoles, he can be found hooping it up on the basketball court, working out, or cooking.
