Steve Nielsen joined the KFDX 3 News team as morning and noon anchor in the summer of 2009.
Before coming to KFDX, Steve anchored Cronkite NewsWatch at Arizona State University where he graduated with a degree in Brodacast Journalism and Mass Communication in May of 2009. He also worked as morning producer for Sports 620 KTAR in Phoenix where he got accustomed to the early mornings and waking up before the sun rises. The rooster is still sleeping when he's at work.
Steve had never been to Texas before coming to KFDX and now considers himself a little bit Texan. Each day the urge to get cowboy boots grows on him more and more. He grew up on the sunny beaches of Southern California and then went to college in Arizona with that brutal desert heat. Although it gets hot there, that dry heat doesn't even compare to the wall of humidity here in Texas. He now thinks Arizonans are whimps for complaining so much.
