Doug Bilyeu anchors
KFDX 3 news at 5,6 and 10 with Gwyn Bevel. He has been with KFDX since June of 1995.
A native Oklahoman,
Doug began his career as News Director/Anchor at the NBC affiliate in Garden
City, KS. He is a graduate of
Oklahoma
State
University in May of
1992 with a degree in Broadcast Journalism.
Along with Gwyn Bevel, Skip McBride and Tobin McDuff, Doug hosts the annual North Texas Rehab Television
Auction in mid April. He also co-hosts
the annual Children's Miracle Network broadcast that raises money for pediatric
services at United Regional Healthcare System in Wichita Falls.
Doug is very familiar
with rural issues in Texoma. He grew up
on a wheat farm/ cattle ranch in Crescent, OK.
Driving a John Deere tractor or working cattle comes just as easy as
writing and reporting the news!
Doug is very active in
the community. He is a member of First Baptist Church of Wichita Falls. He has served on the board for the North Texas
Chapter of the American Cancer Society where he also has served as Publicity
Chairman for the Cattle Baron's Ball fundraiser. He has also served as President and board
member for Inheritance Adoptions in Wichita
Falls.
Doug's wife, Denise is an elementary
teacher in the WFISD. Both are kept very
busy with their three children's full slate of
activities.
