Reported by: Erin Shryock Tuesday, Nov 3, 2009 @01:32pm CST Those who give blood in the surrounding eight county area, will have an option to for forego receiving a blood donor t-shirt and instead TBI will make a donation to the Alzheimer's Association, North Central Texas Chapter. The money raised will go to Alzheimer's disease research and caregiver support.
TBI representatives say it's unique for a non-profit to donate to another non-profit.
"We just encourage everyone to give blood, it saves three lives each time you give blood and this month we have something really special you can save three people's lives and also support the Alzheimer's Association, says Jennifer Risinger with TBI." The donation made to the Alzheimer's Association will be about $2 for each declined t-shirt. And you can donate blood anytime by going by the Texas Blood Institute located on Gregory street. That's near Lowe's and Texas Roadhouse.
