Tuesday, Nov 3, 2009 @04:40pm CST For children, Christmas is one of the most magical times of the year. There are hundreds of adults who could also use some holiday spirit, too. Adult Protective Services and Texoma Community Credit Union are kicking off the Tree of Life campaign. It's the third year for this event, which Helps provide presents to 120 elderly or disabled adults who have been under the care of APS. Their names are written on a Christmas decoration, along with a list of items they'd like to have for the holidays. Janet Wellman with Adult Protective Services says, “They don't have the money to spend on anything extra, they're on fixed income and just barely getting by most of the time. This is a great opportunity to help them out.” If you'd like to help, stop by Texoma Community Credit Union to pick up an ornament. |
