Pres. Obama has pushed up the deadline set by Pres. Bush for cars to average 35 mpg (30 mpg for SUV's) from 2020 to 2016. Improving the mpg is expected to add about $1,300 to the cost of a vehicle. What do you think?
It's too expensive, it will cost automotive jobs, and will limit my consumer choices. Pres. Bush shoudn't have set the original deadlines, and Pres. Obama shouldn't have pushed them up. (41.2%)

It will save money in lower gas consumption and improve the environment. Many of us switched to higher mileage cars when gas hit $4 per gallon. No big deal. (28.9%)

Setting those mpg deadlines for 2020 was fine, but moving them up to 2016 is unrealistic. (17.7%)

2016? That's too far off for me to worry about now. (12.2%)
