Fourteen years ago the Big Pasture girls basketball team had one of their best season's on record finishing with only two losses. One of those coming in the state tournament.
All this after only making the trastistion from 3-on-3  to 5-on-5 basketball a few years before.
The girls on that team have sinced moved on. But in this week's Sports Spotlight Flashback Alex Zannes travels to Randlett  and brings some of them together to re-live the 1998 season and to discuss what it still  means after all those years.

These days you can find Reina Tinsley on her family farm or picking her two children Lane and Sage up from school. Her life has changed quite a bit from 1998. Now a mother and farmer along with her husband. But back then all that was on her mind was basketball and the state tournament. When you talk to her she still remembers her team's trip to the state tournament like it was yesterday. And what she remembers most??
"From that season?...losing...Getting beat...I'm still mad about that...," says Tinsley.
Tinsley has been away from the game for a while, but when you see her jump shot you can see glimpses of that 17 year old girl hustling up and down the court.
"I think I felt like they were my kids,"says Coach Donna Dilks.  "I treated them like they were my own children. So seeing them play and be successful and going and thinking about. A lot of times you look back and think about the way you've coached. And then they go off and be successful that's even kind of exhilarating also.
"It's something you'll always remember," says Tinsley. "And hopefully my kids will have the opportunity. My kids will probably go to school here too it's a big deal."
The four girls that made it back were Amanda Moon, Reina Tinsley, Nona Laminack. and Mandy Hooker and after all these years you could tell it was still hard for them not to call Donna Dilks by the name she will forever be known as to all of her players through the years.
    Coach.
