Elmo Voice Actor Allegations

The man behind Sesame Street's Elmo character faces allegations of an improper relationship with an underage boy.
In June, the Sesame Street workshop heard from a then 23-year- old man who claimed he was just 16 when his relationship with the then 45-year-old puppeteer, Kevin Clash, began. Clash insists the allegations are false and was granted a leave of absence from the children's show to protect his reputation.
In a statement to TMZ, Clash said his relationship with the accuser was "between two consenting adults" and that the accuser is "trying to make it into something it was not." Sesame Street's investigation into the claims found no wrong-doing, but officials there did punish Clash for exercising poor judgment and violating company policy.
