A group of women is giving back with an event that's getting folks excited about holiday shopping.

Hundreds of Texomans were checking out all kinds of items at the 27th annual Hangar Holiday.

About 250 vendors set up shop at the MPEC this weekend selling everything from dishes to jewelry, to festive accessories.

And since many parents had their little ones in tow, Santa set up a special area so he can meet and greet the kids, turning their visit into a Kodak moment.

But Hangar Holiday provides Texomans with more than shopping and fun.

It raises money for a good cause.

"We do this so we can get proceeds to go to scholarships. And those scholarships go to military dependents, spouses and children," said Leigh Weidman, the Sheppard Officers' Spouses' Club President.

Last year Hangar Holiday raised around 20 thousand dollars for scholarships.

If you weren't able to shop today don't worry, you can do so tomorrow afternoon from 12 to 5 p.m.
