Hollywood is the movie capital of the world, but some of the allure of Tinseltown is fading. Los Angeles County lost more than 16 thousand film and TV jobs between 2004 and 2011.

Most of the jobs went to other states that offer special tax breaks and incentives to the industry. During the same time period, New York added more than 14 thousand jobs, while Georgia added 800.

The entertainment industry remains one of the largest businesses in Los Angeles County, employing 247 thousand people in 2011.
