An emergency surgery is postponing two riders bike trip across the country raising awareness about child abuse.
Lynette Garrett, one of the two riders, underwent an emergency surgery at United Regional to remove her appendix after suffering from major abdominal pain.
The pair rolled into Wichita Falls Wednesday afternoon and planned to leave this morning but had to re-work their plans.
And though they're not on schedule anymore they say they'll still see their ride through the end.
"One way or another we are going to finish this. John will finish it alone or, this is the whole thing about this we take it 24 hrs at a time, but we never anticipated anything like this happening," said Lynette Garrett, Bicyclist.
Lynette cannot ride for another two weeks.
Her cyclist partner, John, plans to leave Wichita Falls tomorrow to continue their ride.
And she hopes to use a rental car to follow along the rest of the way.
