Now that Thanksgiving is behind us, many people are looking forward to Christmas and a perfect tree.

Christmas would not be complete without a tree to decorate.

Some Texomans have made a business out of the holiday while others hope to help the community with every Christmas tree sold.

T&T Christmas Tree Farm is up and running, just like it has been for almost twenty years.

Owner Ted Drummond says they're one of the only places in Texoma where you could cut down your own christmas tree but things have been changing.

Drummond says, "Three years of drought, no irrigation order; we've had to go the last four years of bringing in trees from North Carolina."

However, Drummond and his team shake out all the loose ends and create works of art using artificial snow and lights.

It is all in hopes of giving someone the perfect Christmas tree.

"It's not a money maker, it's just something for us to do," Drummond says. "We only got so many. You won't be disappointed if you take one of these home."

In addition, the Optimist Club has opened up a lot and 100% of the proceeds benefit local youth programs.

Jim Pulley, an Optimist Club member, says, "I feel like Lowe's or the Home Depots of the world, they'll us a Christmas tree as more of lost leader, just to bring traffic into their stores and of course, our money that we gather out here just stays in the community."

A gift both Pulley and Drummond say the community appreciates.

Pulley says, "We have a lot of people that come and they say, 'We won't buy a Christmas tree from anyone else but this lot right here,' because they fully understand that it's for the best."

Drummond says, "You may be broke all year but come Christmas, you're going to have a tree. You can't deprive the kids of Christmas because the economy is bad. You've got to sacrifice some place else."

T&T Christmas Tree Farm has about half its trees left and the Optimist Christmas Tree lot will remain open until all the trees are sold.

T&T is located at 2556 Wellington Lane.

Drummond says you can call 940.855.6508 for more information.

The Optimist Club tree lot is located on the southwest corner of Taft and Southwest Parkway next to Exxon gas station.

Pulley says the lot is open seven days a week from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m.
