Police say a shoplifting suspect in Central Texas has been caught after allegedly stealing an ambulance and crashing at a fast-food drive-thru.

College Station police say Coty Joe Lohse of Bryan is facing a felony theft charge. Authorities on Tuesday did not immediately provide additional details on him.

Bryan police say a man allegedly took items from a beauty supply store and stole a delivery car from a nearby business. That car hit another vehicle and drove away. A witness followed until the fleeing driver was involved in a second crash.

College Station emergency medical personnel arrived in an ambulance. Police say Lohse stole the ambulance and hit a concrete pillar at a restaurant drive-thru. The ambulance and the suspect were found at a nearby intersection.

Nobody was seriously hurt.
