A number of courthouses across Tennessee were evacuated Tuesday after bomb threats were called in, state officials said.

The Tennessee Emergency Management Agency told NBC News that bomb threats were called in to courthouses in 27 counties throughout the state, beginning at 10:15 a.m. CT Tuesday. Blount, Campbell, Greene, Hamblen and Hancock counties were among those in which threats were made, according to Knoxville, Tenn.'s NBC-affiliate WBIR.

Local law enforcement agencies responded and were evacuating and sweeping the facilities. The FBI also was involved, WBIR reported.

As of 1:18 p.m. ET, no devices had been found, according to Tennessee Highway Patrol Public Information Officer Jennifer Donnelly.

The source of the calls is still unknown.
