Spray Painting

Want to spray paint a piece of furniture but fear the mess? Use a large cardboard appliance shipping box as a spray booth. Any local appliance dealer will probably be happy to give you one.
It’s easier to paint a chair if you turn it upside down and spray the legs and rungs first, spraying their insides before their outsides. Then turn it right side up and spray the back and seat. This works with a small table as well.
When you’re spray painting the outside of a piece of furniture, spray the corners first, aiming directly at each corner and coating both sides of it evenly. But when spraying the inside of a cabinet, it’s best not to spray into the corners. Instead, just spray straight onto the flat surfaces, doing the back first, then each side.
To spray paint a drawer front, leave it in the cabinet. Mask the cabinet around the drawer, then pull the drawer out about ½-inch. This will let paint cover the drawer edges without getting inside the drawer. After the drawer dries, remove it to paint the cabinet case.
