Tomorrow is December 1st, and we're definitely in the season of giving.

But, not much can compare to the kind of generosity being offered to those who deserve it most, our wounded warriors.

Since January, a new show has been in production, called "High Ground Hunters", that's going to air on the Sportsman's Channel, starting on January 1st.
          \
What they're doing, is offering those brave service men and women something to look forward to.

Jimmy Bell/Wounded Warrior:  "Well, the first time I was shot in the face during a fire fight, and that was really close, like from you to me close."

Jimmy Bell' s from Hico, down past Stephenville, and he's exactly who those involved with the new TV show, High Ground Hunters are hoping to reach.

"The second time was a grenade.  I got two Purple Hearts.  And, that was in the battle of Fallujah."

Basically, with the help of ranchers all across Texas, High Ground Hunters is giving our wounded warriors something to think about besides the next surgery or doctor's appointment, or depression.

Jeff Young/High Ground Hunters: "You get people out and get them hooked on a big fish, or sighted down on a big deer or exotic, and they leave the hospital behind.  And, they forget about their injuries."

Denny Derr/High Ground Hunters:  "One, we want to say thank you for what you did.  These guys have shed blood on foreign soil so that we can have the lifestyle we have here."

While ranchers, like Brady Crumpler, donate their animals and offer their land for hunting, High Ground Hunters pays for everything else.

They fly them into Texas from all over the states, and for an entire weekend, it's all about hunting and fishing,  and musical entertainment.

In fact, Elaina Crumpler is among those who've realized they too get much in return.

Elaina Crumpler/Entertainer:  I'm thinking I'm about to sing for a bunch of older men, is what I was thinking.  But, they turned out to be about my age.  And, I get out there.  And, I guess I was thinking, I'm just going to play like any normal show, sing, and leave.  And, that's not exactly what happened.  I ended up staying and hanging out with all the guys, meeting them.  And, literally, it was a life changing experience for me.  It opened my eyes to so much."

Denny:   "They don't realize it.  They're changing our lives too.  They're changing lives in every community we've gone to."

Jimmy:  "It's flattering and humbling and, I don't know.  It's a lot to take in that people would really go through all this and put all this together for, for someone.  And, it's a cool deal.  A good deal."

If you'd like to be a part of High Ground Hunters, all you have to do is reach out to them and let them know you're a wounded warrior.
