Let Your Natural Christmas Tree be Put to Good Use

By: KFDX News
Updated: December 27, 2012

Now that Christmas is over, some of you will soon start to take down holiday decorations and throw out those natural Christmas trees. The city of Wichita Falls will be collecting real trees that have been completely stripped of the tree stand. The trees will be ground up and used as mulch. No artifical trees will be accepted. Trees will can be dropped off at four locations through January 13th:

-Lucy Park on Sunset Lane off Seymour Highway
-Kiwanis Park at 4400 Southwest Parkway
-City Transfer Station on Lawrence Road
-At the city landfill on Wiley Road

You can also drop your tree with the Texas Parks and Wildlife department division of Inland Fisheries at 409 Chester Avenue in Wichita Falls. They'll take the trees out to area lakes like Lake Arrowhead. The trees work as fish attractors and provide great habitats. You can call 766-2383 for more information.
