Montague County Man Jailed After Hitting Deputy with Vehicle

A man remains in the Montague County jail tonight after being arrested  for hitting a deputy with a vehicle.
     Sheriff Paul Cunningham says  28 year-old Joe Hardison was called to the sheriff's office for violation of parole and while trying to arrest him Cunningham says Hardison ran out and then while trying to drive out of the parking lot hit deputy hal boyd with the driver's side mirror.
    But instead of stopping, even after the deputy pulled his weapon on Hardison, Cunningham says Hardison drove off hitting the deputy with the vehicle bumper.
    He was later caught in Bowie and arrested.
    Tonight, Hardison remains in the Montague County jail for aggravated assault on a public officer and evading arrest.
    His bond is $111,500.
    As for Deputy Boyd, Cunningham says he was taken to the hospital and treated for minor cuts and bruises.
