Officers Say DNA Helps Solve February Break-In

Wichita Falls police say they're able solve a nearly one-year-old burglary case thanks to DNA found under the victims' fingernails.
Donald Bradford is charged with burglary of a habitation for the alleged February break-in of his girlfriend's apartment.
The woman told police she was asleep in her bed when a masked man attacked her and severely beat her with a gun.
The man took the woman's ring, valued at nearly $38-thousand, which was on her hand at the time.
During the attack, the victim used her fingernails in self defense and scratched the intruder.
Investigators say that DNA from skin found under the woman's fingernails was linked to Bradford, who was the victim's boyfriend at the time.
He's being held in the Wichita County Jail on a $750-thousand bond.
