The investigation into the weekend death of an inmate in the Wilbarger County jail has been ruled a suicide.

Twenty-five year old Daniel Chamberlain was found dead in his jail cell Saturday night.

Sheriff Larry Lee says he had left a suicide note and was found hanging from a bed sheet.

According to Sheriff Lee, Chamberlain had been in jail since January 1st on a motion to revoke probation from an assault family violence charge.

The sheriff says both the medical examiner and the Texas Rangers have concluded the case to be a suicide.

According to Sheriff Lee, this is the first suicide at the Wilbarger County Jail since it was built two decades ago.
