A 23-year-old Burkburnett man charged with hitting a Wichita Falls police sergeant's vehicle and injuring him while the officer was filing a report on another DWI accident is indicted by the Wichita County Grand Jury.
Kyle Evan Adams will go to trial on the charge of intoxicated assault.
He received that charge after injuring Sergeant Danny Wiggins.
Police say Adams was driving home from the Old Town Saloon when he rammed Wiggins' cruiser.
Wiggins was sitting in his patrol car writing up reports on a DWI accident on Kell East.
His emergency lights were flashing when his car was rear-ended by a pick-up truck.
Sergeant Wiggins had to be cut free from the wreckage.
He was treated for several broken ribs, a severe concussion, and a fractured femur.
