After helping Hurricane Sandy victims on the east coast for two months, the American Red Cross' emergency response vehicle has finally returned to Wichita Falls.

On October 31st, volunteers drove the vehicle to New York to help Hurricane Sandy Victims.

Red cross officials say it was used to serve food to storm victims who had no electricity for several weeks.

And on January 6th, it started making its way back to Texas, compliments of Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad company.

The BNSF Railroad took all of the western ERVs, every ERV that was more than 1,000 miles away from home and they put it on a train and have trained it back to us," say Katrina Farmer, executive director of the local American Red Cross chapter.

According to Farmer., the ERV arrived in Fort Worth last Friday and volunteers picked it up today and returned it to Wichita Falls this afternoon.
