Police Say Trail in Dirt Leads to Suspected Thief

By: Melissa Foy
Updated: February 20, 2013
Police say a trail from stolen property being dragged across the dirt helps them make an arrest in a theft case.
Officers say the trail led them from the 500-block of Olen Rd. to the home of Deborah Maddox in the 500-block of White St.
There, officers say they saw evidence that Maddox had stolen welding leads, aluminum motor blocks, and a radiator from a semi-truck from one of her neighbors.
She's charged with theft under $20-thousand and is in the Wichita County Jail on a $30-thousand bond.
Police say Maddox had over 50 regulated metal sales in the Crime Records Data Base in a seven month span.
