Whether you're angry, happy, mad, or sad, the foods you eat can affect the way you feel. The right snack can even change your whole day. We are what we eat, and what we eat is a powerful thing!
What we eat triggers the release of neurotransmitters and hormones that affect how we feel. If you're feeling anxious, eat Brazil nuts, they're loaded with selenium which studies show low levels lead to increased depression and anxiety. Just one ounce contains over 700 percent of your recommended daily intake. Tuna, mushrooms, and garlic are also loaded with it.
If you're stressed, don't grab chips!  Snack on vitamin c rich bell peppers and citrus grouts. They lower levels of cortisol, the stress hormone. And if you are agitated; a recent study shows eight ounces of tart cherry juice may do the trick.
And if you ever wake up foggy, dazed, and confused, snack on colorful fruits like pineapple, cranberries, and plumbs. These fruits contain antioxidants that fight off free radicals known to damage neurons in the brain. Aim for several servings a day.
