The Army private accused of the starvation death of a 10-year-old boy at Fort Sill has pleaded guilty.

Thirty-three year-old Pvt. Connell C. Williams was charged with first-degree murder.

Federal prosecutors were seeking the death penalty but the plea means he will receive life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Williams is charged for the May 5, 2011, death of Marcus Holloway, the son of Williams' girlfriend, Candice Holloway, at Fort Sill.  He had originally pleaded not guilty.

Holloway previously told authorities that Williams fed her son only rice cakes, cereal bars, and water most days, and was punished if he tried to sneak any other types of food.
