(WFLA)  Airport officials and travelers alike are curious to know what happened to 31-year-old Chad Wolfe of Newton, Pennsylvania.

According to Tampa International Airport officials, Wolfe's body was found early Friday morning inside an elevator shaft.

TIA police say Wolfe entered the Armstrong elevators at midnight Friday and that it stopped working about 3:00 a.m.  Police say repair crews found Wolfe's body at 10:00 a.m. later that morning.

The victim's father, Garland Wolfe, said police told him that his son, "pried open the elevator and fell to his death."

Garland Wolfe said that he was puzzled by the theory given by police.

"He's only 150 pounds roughly and to pry an elevator door open, I don't see that happening," said Wolfe.
