STARS SIGN HALPERN

The Dallas Stars needed a second line center after losing Jason Arnott to free agency, and today, they got one. The Stars signed center Jeff Halpern to a four year contract worth about $2 Million a year. Halpern had 11 goals and a career high 33 assists in 70 games as captain for the Washington Capitals last season. In six years in the capital city, Halpern had 87 goals and 127 assists in 438 contests.
