Updated: April 10, 2007
There were plenty of players throwing punches during the Knicks-Nuggets game Saturday night and yesterday the NBA punched back. They handed down a total of 47 games suspended and fines total a million dollars. NBA scoring leader Carmelo Anthony was suspended for 15 games which is the sixth longest suspension in league history for an on-court incident. Nate Robinson and J.R. Smith each got 10 games and four other players also were suspended. Commissioner David Stern fined each organization $500,000. Ten players were ejected after Saturday night`s fight, which started with a little more than a minute left in Denver`s 123-100 victory.
