As you know setting off pyrotechnics, as well as possessing them inside Wichita Falls city limits, is prohibited.

One Texoma fireworks store owner wants to see part of that ordinance change.

Russell Nettles, who owns Russell's Fireworks on Highway 79, told Wichita Falls city councilors today he thinks people should be able to legally possess fireworks inside city limits.

Nettles says a lot of his customers aren't complying with the fireworks ordinance anyway.

One Wichita Falls resident who used to live outside city limits agrees.

"My general question is how are my customers supposed to get from my place of business back across town to Lawton, and Altus, and Electra, and Iowa Park, and Windthorst without going through the city limits so technically they broke the law all my customers technically broke the law when they left my place of business this year," says Russell Nettles Owner, Russell's Fireworks."I think that's fine because people that live in the country a lot of times have to travel through towns to get back to their destination and you're always worried that if you're going to be caught you're going to get in trouble so yeah i think it's a good idea," says Mary Roffan Wichita Falls resident.

But Wichita Falls Assistant Fire Marshal, Jeromy Lucas, says the fire department is happy with the fireworks ordinance the way it is now.

Nettles says city councilors told him to put his concerns in writing.
