More and more Wichita Falls residents are calling on exterminators to kill an infestation of some annoying pests.

The pests are fleas and ticks and exterminators say this is the worst they've been in the past few years.

Local exterminators have been busy battling the insects since late March.

But experts say the fight won't stop until homeowners take certain steps.

"People are using insecticides they're grabbing off the grocery store shelves. The chemical in it is a good chemical.. but it's a very low rate. That... combined with neighbors not doing anything about them," explains David Shoop, Jr., of Shoops Texas Termite & Pest Control.

Experts say the best way to get rid of a flea and tick infestation is to treat your pets, your house and your yard at the same time.
