Updated: October 10, 2012

Gwyn Bevel joined the KFDX news team in the fall of 2005, after completing her Master's degree in Public Affairs Reporting at the University of Illinois at Springfield. While in the state's capital, Gwyn covered the Illinois legislature for WICS TV 20.  Gwyn has known since an early age that news is where she belongs. She attended news camp at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale while in high school, and that sealed the deal that journalism was her passion. She went on to complete her Bachelor's degree in Radio-TV News and Political Science from SIUC. Gwyn worked for WSIU TV 8 while in college and because of her active involvement in so many aspects of college, Gwyn was named one of the 25 most Distinguished Seniors of 2004 at Southern.

Gwyn says her mother is her biggest fan, and she credits her father's involvement in city government for her love of local politics. When Gwyn started with the station she covered city government. She currently a co-anchors the 5pm and 6pm newscasts with Doug Bilyeu. You can also catch her on KFDX 3 News at 10pm with Darrell Franklin.

Gwyn is a native Texan who enjoys being out and volunteering in the community every chance she gets. She was recently named as a member of the 20 Under 40 in Texoma. Gwyn currently serves as President of the Wichita Adult Literacy Council and the Arc boards. She also works on Deer Fest to benefit Adopt a Box each year and serves as a mentor for Big Brothers Big Sisters.
