The money will be used to replace worn down concrete panels on Taxiway C at Municipal Airport.
That taxi way has been shut down for about four to five weeks after officials said it wasn't safe to use that portion of the taxiway because of worsening cracks in the runway.
Airport officials say because it's shut down, pilots are having to take a longer route to get to their terminal.
LeAnn Moran, Wichita Falls airports administrator, says, "They're having to go around. They land on Sheppard Air Force Base's runways. Normally they come through on Taxiway C to get to the apron. They're no longer able to do it while it's closed."
About 90-percent of that cost can be funded by the FAA, meaning the city will only have to cover about $5-thousand- of the project.
