A Texoma man who killed his father and critically wounded his brother in Walters back in 2006 has lost his appeal of his life sentence.

Daryl Daniel pleaded guilty but withdrew it a month later, and appealed on grounds of ineffective counsel.

Daniel got in an argument with his father, Donald Daniel, and when his brother David tried to break up the fight, Daryl shot him three times and shot and killed his father.

David survived, and it was David who last year drove himself to Wichita Falls with a mysterious and never explained bullet wound to the head.

David was also charged earlier this year with the beating death of Teresa Speir, whose body was found in Cotton County two weeks after she went missing.
