Johnny Depp Makes Appearance at Comanche Nation Parade

In Lawton today members of the Comanche Nation gathered to celebrate their heritage with a parade and fair.

And while it did rain on today's event a special guest provided an incentive which reeled in lots of folks to this celebration.

Today many from Comanche Nation, Comanche County and even some North Texans headed to Lawton and spent this morning playing the waiting game in the rain to catch a glimpse of an honorary Native American, who can be seen on the silver screen.

"This will be exciting. we are excited," said one spectator.

They lined the street.

Feet--- soaked in mud.

Huddling under umbrellas for mostly one reason.

"He is my absolute favorite actor ever, I loved him since I knew of any of his movies," said a long time fan.

"I am going to say hello Willy Wonka, Jack Sparrow," said another.

"Pirates of the Caribbean."

"Oh the Pirates Series, Edward Scissorhands, Alice In Wonderland."

People planned and plotted for the moment.

"Give me a preview, how is it going to look?"

"I am going to have my zoom lens out, I am going to have my zoom lens on him," one spectator said.

All to see, "Ladies and gentlemen, Johnny Depp.

"Thank you so much for having me, and thank you so much for accepting me. Thank you," he said.

And though his visit was brief, folks here were still happy to see the Hollywood star.

"It's the closest we will ever get to him right?"

"Yes."

Because now they had proof to show their friends what they were missing.

Why was Depp in Oklahoma?

He's filming his latest movie "The Lone Ranger," in which he plays Tonto.

And he was recently adopted by the president and found of "American's for Indian Opportunity" which now makes him a new member of the Comanche nation.
