Alex Zannes

Alex Zannes is the newest membet of the KFDX TV-3 Sports Team. For the last two Years Zannes worked for KOB-TV in Albuquerque NM, as a sports reporter and photographer. In his time there he covered everything from high school football to the NCAA basketball tournament.

Zannes graduated 10th in his class from Valley High School in 2006 and was a three year letter winner in basketball and a four year letter winner in golf. Zannes was the recipient of the 2006 Maloof Award, a scholarship given to the outstanding student-athlete in the state of New Mexico.

He attended the University of New Mexico from fall 2006 to May 2010 where he majored in Political Science/ Pre-law with a minor in Broadcast Journalism. Zannes was one of the founding members of U-News, UNM's first student-run broadcast news outlet. He was also a four year member of the UNM golf team. In May 2010 Zannes graduated Cum Laude from the college of Arts and Sciences at UNM.

In his last semester at UNM he interned with the sports department at KRQE in Albuquerque, helping to cover the Mountain West Basketball tournament in Las Vegas NV.  In the summer following graduation, he worked as a freelance production assistant with ESPN on the US Open at Pebble Beach, and the Summer x games.

In his spare time you can usually find Zannes on the Golf course or riding his mountain bike. Zannes says he is extremely excited to be a part of the KFDX sports team and if you see him on the sidelines at a local sporting event be sure to say hello!
