The repaving of a portion of Scott Avenue in Downtown Wichita Falls is causing a big pain for some drivers, and so the city will be ripping up some of the street to fix it.

That's the sound some drivers are getting as they drive over valley gutters at Scott Avenue and 6th Street.

The gutters were installed to help with drainage after several blocks of the road were repaved around where the new travel center will be built.

But city engineers say the gutters are causing cars to bottom out and scrape because they're too deep.

Project coordinators have received some complaints about steep dips and plan to start re-doing them as early as next week.
