The program director for the Child Protective Services office in Wichita Falls remains on emergency paid leave while a possible tampering or withholding evidence investigation in Abilene continues.

Last week, Abilene detectives executed search warrants at the CPS office there and seized documents to support their evidence tampering case.

That case stems from the death of a 22 month old girl on Dyess Air Force Base in August in which one person has been arrested.

According to Abilene officials, following the child's death they say they learned CPS workers were told by supervisors to not cooperate with law enforcement.

One of those supervisors is Geneva Schroeder, who Abilene police say is the program administrator for the Wichita Falls CPS office.

Officials say although she was named in the search warrant her Wichita Falls office was not searched.

Again, Schroeder is on paid emergency leave while the investigation continues.

Police say so far no charges have been filed in this case.
