An event at a Wichita Falls park helped to raise awareness for those with disabilities.
Wearing blindfolds people used white canes to walk through Lucy Park, gaining a better understanding of what it's like to be blind.
It was all part of the nationally celebrated "White Cane Day."
A day which providing a hands on experience of the challenges the blind face.
"it's really eye-opening, I guess that phrase isn't the best one to use I guess, it really makes one aware of the problems that a blind person has, and the obstacles he has to overcome," said Mayor Barham.
Though the white cane celebration took place today in the falls, it is  nationally celebrated on October 15th.
