One Wichita Falls business brought kids together to learn and to play.

Today was kids fest day at Ashley Furniture in Wichita Falls.

Firefighters spent the day showing off their fire truck and teaching kids the importance of fire safety.

Using their "fire safety house," WFFD also demonstrated how smoke can impair your vision.

Other organizations also had something to show the kiddos, like 9 year old Spirit, a dog rescued from the Humane Society.

Organizers say the event is a way to bring the community closer together.

"Just give them a safe place to come hang out and have fun we are always doing different contests and prizes," said Michael Covington, Ashley Furniture General Manager.

Ashley Furniture also hosted a Halloween costume contest.

Where winners received prizes like DVD players, Nascar tickets, and gift certificates to other local business.
