The Texas Transportation Commission has given the green light for Olney Municipal Airport to receive a sizable grant.

The money totals more than $687,000 and will be funded through TxDOT's Aviation Facilities Grant Program.

It will pave the way for the airport to fund the design and construction of hangers as well as as other improvements.

This year the Aviation Facilities Grant Program is expected to provide about $60 million in funding for planning, construction and maintaining community airports.
