Texas Oncology celebrates Halloween in a big way

Halloween is a time when kids get dressed up and into character in honor of the spooky holiday but at a local cancer center, the staff got into the Halloween spirit in hopes of brightening the day of its team but more importantly, its patients.
The staff at Texas Oncology embraced Halloween
As soon as you walk in the center, it looks like a scene from a western.
A sheriff and some deputies rounding up a group of bad guys.
Terri Lumley, operator at Texas Oncology, says the staff couldn't resist to drive up.
"We had to be the posse to come get them," Lumley says. "We had to put them in jail and play the whole scene and hang them to dry."
It was not just the staff at the front desk getting into all the action.
The nurses mimicked vintage nurse dolls and other staff members dressed up as non-traditional angels.
Lumley says they always look forward to this time of year.
"This is the most fun we have. Sometimes we have a good time in Christmas but this is the most fun we have," Lumley says.
Wholesome fun Lumley says will benefit patients and others.
"We have a blast at it but then also our patients love it," Lumley says. "They get a big kick out of it."
Also, Lumley says, "Somebody comes in and they are feeling really really bad, if they see smiles on our faces and they see us having fun, it gives them a smile."
A smile staff members hope will get patients through their darkest times.
The team at Texas Oncology says that they are already planning next year's elaborate costumes.
