How long does it take to build a childrens playground?
Well one national non-profit, dedicated to saving playtime for American's, says it can be done in just one day.
And today they put it to the test.
With help from other local organizations "Kaboom" set out to build a playground at Camp Graham Ball.
And they didn't just build a playground, but lots of fun outdoor games like a four square court and twister game.
And now kids can't wait to be back to camp again.
Tightening screws to shoveling mulch.
Even with the more than 200 volunteers from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas and the Boys and Girls Clubs of Wichita Falls everyone was hard at work.
They created a path to the playground using colorful stones decorated by kids.
And built kid tables to play board games on.
All in an effort to help the next generation.
"Our kids are our future. If we don't invest in our children what else is there to invest in really," said Leslie Hughes, the Senior Manager from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas.
The project is in light of the "healthy kids, healthy families" initiative created by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas.
It encourages health education and promotes physical activity.
The playground at Camp Graham Ball is the ninth playground they've built in Texas.
And even though it's been done before, folks are still amazed at how quickly it all comes together.
"It all just kind of like "shoup" (sound effect) at one time and it's done it's pretty neat. That's it, that's why they call it kaboom," said Charles Vergauwen, from Wichita Falls Boys and Girls Club.
And though kids won't play here until summer, volunteers say they can't wait.
"I'll probably cry. I get very emotional when it comes to kids because they are just great, there is just so much waiting for them in their future.
A future that is now much brighter as they promote fitness through play.
Something neat about what Kaboom does is they actually have the kids who will use the playground help design it.
Back in September they let kids from Boys and Girls Club create designs which they then used as inspiration for the playground.
