Archer County District Attorney Jack Mcgaughey says all suspects involved in the cover-up murder of a man are now done with their pre-trial hearings. He says their trial date will be set after the first of the year. A new district attorney will take over the case, as Mcgaughey was elected 97th District Court Judge.

Justin Green is charged with murder. His mother, Terri Green, his sister, Brittany Green, and Stephanie Corral are all charged with tampering with evidence. Clay County Sheriff Kenny Lemons says each of them had a hand in killing Jose Ramirez, and burying his body in a shallow grave behind a home south of Petrolia.

Officers say Brittany Green told them sometime before October 15, 2007 that her brother shot the man with a rifle in the home because he did not believe in God, and was also reaching for a gun. After the shooting. Brittany, Terri, and Corral allegedly helped bury the body. Later a source says Brittany and Corral ordered a pizza and paid for it with a stolen credit card. The source said they told her not to worry because the owner of the card was dead.

The source also said the suspects went back to the murder scene several times to make sure the body was still concealed and at one point even brought back a foot that had fallen off the body.
