If you were traveling on Highway 287 this morning, you might have caught a glimpse of  this year's U.S. Capitol Christmas tree on its way to Washington, D.C.

The Mack truck hauling the 73 foot spruce from Colorado left Wichita Falls around noon after refueling. It's now on its way to Dallas so folks in Bowie and south of here may see it passing through later.

The tree will make stops in 28 cities on its trip to the Capitol where it will arrive on November 26. The Engelmann Spruce was harvested on November 2nd in the White River National Forest in Colorado.

You can track it in real time here: http://www.trackthetree.com/
