Some WFISD teachers are getting a big surprise today.
They're being awarded for their creativity and ingenuity when it comes to their teaching ideas.
"Good job Mrs. Hutchinson, good job."
That was just one of the 23 different teachers who received the Idea Grant, for innovative, developmental, and educational activities.
WFISD teachers submit ideas to the foundation board for ways to enhance learning in the classroom.
16 different grants were declared winners resulting in a total of 12 thousand dollars awarded.
"In this economic time teachers need a boost, and when we can help them out financially it's an even bigger boost, and I think the students really appreciate the fact that their teachers are doing their homework too," said Lance Spruiell, a WFISD foundation board member.
The grants are all funded through donations.
