Industrial Facility on Fire in Garland

By: NBC DFW
Updated: November 16, 2012
Firefighters are staging a command post near the scene of a large fire at an industrial facility in Garland.

Several explosions have been witnessed as the fire continues to burn through containers inside a structure. The fire, which was first reported at about 3:30 p.m., is contained to one area, though adjacent containers have begun to emit steam presumably from heating or blistering paint.

Firefighters have not yet begun to fight the fire, which is common with fires at chemical facilities as officials coordinate an attack plan.
