National Adoption Day

Here in the lone star state there are nearly 64 hundred children in Texas foster care waiting to become part of a permanent family.

But Texas Department of Family and Protective Services say adoption is increasing as it rose eight percent in the last year.

And today more adoptions became official as it is National Adoption Day.

89th district court room was packed full, full of people and emotion.

"Normally we don't have problems finding seating but this is a good problem to have," said Randy Neff from CPS.

The 89th district courtroom was packed with people anxiously awaiting.

A new beginning for 19 children in Wichita County as they are adopted by loving and caring people like Heard Floore who never had intentions of adopting until he met Damon and Bryan two years ago.

"It felt right, it felt like something I was called to do," he said.

Called to create a home for many children who dreamed to be part of one.

"I know what the statistics are if nobody gets involved, I know what happens to those children, and I did not want it to happen to these children," said Floore.

"For many of these children before today had a lot of unanswered questions as far as what their future held now they know, they have a family that is going to celebrate their successes and also support them when they have failures in their life," said Neff.

And with these final words, "full truth, nothing but the truth so help you god."

Each new family here became official, providing these children with a permanent place to truly call home.

And after all the adoptions became official in the 89th district court room all the new families celebrated by going to patsy's house for dessert and some "family fun" activities.
