The birth of a child is typically a time for celebration.
But for the parents of a pregnant Wichita Falls mother it turned into a time to mourn.
27 year-old Ashley Rhodes-Reid was diagnosed with a heart condition when she was young.
So when she became pregnant it was considered high risk.
Unfortunately, she died while 7 months pregnant leaving behind her baby girl MadIson along with mounting medical and funeral costs.
So a benefit is underway right now to help Ashley's parents who say it's a been a very difficult three months.
"No closure I mean you can't, you just don't feel like you can put it to rest till everything is taken care of," said Stephen Rhodes, Ashley's father.
A chili benefit is helping serve up donations for the Rhodes family and it's taking place at the Wichita Falls Police Association building on Industrial Drive.
Five dollar will get you a hearty bowl of chili a drink and dessert.
You can also place bids on Dallas cowboy gear, a hand-made quilt, and other items that are being auctioned off.
All money raised will go toward the medical and funeral costs for Ashley Rhodes--Reid.
