Wichita County Commissioners have completed their election canvassing, which means the winners from this year's county election races are now the official.
In the only close race in the county, Tax Assessor and Collector Democratic incumbent Lou Murdock was beat out by Republican Tommy Smythe.
According to the County Clerk's office the official number of votes cast for Smythe was 20,021. Lou Murdock received 19, 827.
Murdock had considered requesting a recount but opted to just retire instead.
